TJ Norris is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist and curator based in Fort Worth whose three-decade practice examines the abstract psychology and social complexities of the urban environment. A graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art and the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design, Norris works across photography, installation, and the moving image, recently marking a prolific return to film with multi-sensory works that have earned international honors in Milan, Los Angeles, and New York. His career is distinguished by exhibitions at the A4 Art Museum (Chengdu), South Bend Museum of Art, and the Tacoma Art Museum, with his work held in prestigious permanent collections including the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, Harvard University, and the Vanhaerents Art Collection. The founder of the gallery Soundvision and author of the monograph Shooting Blanks, Norris continues to explore the profound dissonance between human systems and the natural world through his recent cinematic projects and various residencies.
