I Am Color
My regalia speaks colors
shaped of home, of rivers,
of waterfalls, and of Love.
Point me in the direction of
peace and happiness.
My crown is like a mountain
filled with natural foliage.
Grandmom’s quilts peek
through my fringed borders.
A hint of turquoise,
covers my feet as does the
Nile River. Take my hand
and lead me to the comfort of
a new reality.
My waterfalls feed calm rivers
that feed streams, that
feed a puddle to purposefully
splash with my wiggling toes.
My wisp of fabric speaks Cameroon
and my headdress reflects the moon.
Let me point you to the River Jordan,
deep and clear. I am color for the
ages… enjoy my spin.
