by Andi Myles
I left our
book on the A
train—the one
with our love
story in the
margins our threesome
with an unwitting
Anne Carson—hoping
it would ride
for half an eternity
hauling its earth-
shattering profundity
from Washington
Heights to Jamaica
Bay or be scooped
up by a romantic
college student
and brought south
where you might stumble
across it at a library
book sale only for it
to force to mind
what a petty
unremarkable
love we had.
