by Sydney Ard
if you are driving very quickly in the pouring rain about sixty miles an hour or so
and briefly pass under a small bridge
you will notice a sudden and absolute loss of sound
in the world around you
before the chatter picks up again
This is What It’s Like to Watch Someone as They Die
an infinite void is opened before your eyes
where their life once was
the tiniest of moments lost to time
as it becomes an instant that you forever remember
and yet somehow
immediately forget
This is Exactly the Same Moment as When You Lose Your Hearing in a Storm
