Round Midnight
Round Midnight has a different sound and feel
daylight and twilight. The mood is different.
The groove is different. The sounds are different.
The crowd is different.
Downtown to uptown new sounds, the A train, Coltrane.
Blues to jazz, offbeat rhythms, Dizzy and Monk in a funk.
Minton’s Playhouse , 117th and St. Nicholas. Cool cats and squares
who dare pick up an ax.
Hard jamming, bass slamming, keep pace, don’t hesitate.
Slow U blow. Hold on tight, inhibitions take flight, it’s a whole different night,
Round Midnight.
